Student Lunchroom Parent Information Meeting

Regina Public Schools currently offers universal free lunch room supervision for all Grades 1 to 8 students. As you are likely aware, the division faced a significant budget challenge for the 2015-16 school year. The division also expects budget pressures to continue over the next few years.

Regina Public Schools implemented free lunch room supervision in September 2008. Since then, costs for providing lunch rooms supervision has over doubled, from $630,000 in 2008-09 to $1,300,000 in 2014-15. (Student enrolment has grown by about 15% in the same time period.)

The division is interested in finding ways to reduce the costs of providing lunch room supervision. The division is focused on reducing this and other budget lines in order to maintain staffing levels in our schools. You are welcome to attend an informational meeting on Monday, October 26th at 7:00 PM at Campus Regina Public (formerly Cochrane High School), located at 1069 14th Ave. E.  Further details will be provided and you will have an opportunity to provide feedback.

Before and After School Program
