Bias & Stereotypes - Critical Questions We Must Ask

Our ACT Team has been busy these last few weeks. In December, we attended a workshop at the Board Office after school that focused on bias and stereotypes in all types of resources. We continued our discussions at school and after Christmas began work on a voicethread project to showcase what we have been learning. See what you think.

Ocean Inquiry

Mrs. Gaddies Grade 4/5 class researched ocean animals, created a digital picture using a computer program called Seashore and recorded the most interesting fact in a voicethread slideshow .

Polar Animals Podcast

Mrs. Reiss' Grade 3 students were learning about polar animals and created a story patterned after one of their favourites, Bill Martin's Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Listen to their podcast and see the wonderful art work they created to go along with their story.

Dinosaur Favourites

Mr. Jone's Grade 1 students have been learning about dinosaurs. They made this slide show about why a dinosaur is their favourite with Mrs. Wills in the library.
